Feature Artist at Filberg
I was recently asked to be the Feature Artist at the Filberg Festival in Comox this August. This is an amazing opportunity for me to showcase my artwork in a stunning outdoor location, receive lots of publicity and also to connect with many people over the four days of the festival.
For this year’s festival I’ve been working on larger works in a “tree and forest theme”. I like how this reflects the location of Filberg Park, which boasts 130 varieties of trees. During the festival I will also be helping out the Cumberland Forest Society by collecting donations towards payment for 50 acres of forest surrounding the village, which is otherwise slated to be clearcut in 2016 (a forest that I have spent many enjoyable hours in mountainbiking). Monthly donors may receive a Kobus print or poster.
At the festival I will also have available: giclee prints, art cards and more – something for every budget.
The Filberg Festival, a large event which takes up the whole of Filberg Park, “celebrates the best of arts, crafts and music from across Canada” and is taking place on August 1-4th . Tickets are $13 a day or $40 for 4 days. You can also like their page on facebook to get all sorts of info and updates about the festival. Hope to see you there!
